There are several causes of headaches, but the most common type that people experience are pain or tight band like pressure around the front, top, side or back of the head and usually accompanied with neck stiffness or ache. Some people may also experience pressure behind the eye. This type of headache is known as tension or cervicogenic headache. Current research also suggest people who suffer from tension headache tend to suffer from chronic muscle pain especially around the neck and shoulder leading to sensitization of the central nervous system.
